Hey there!

Welcome to my site! If you’re here, you’re probably like me—someone who loves a challenge, enjoys pushing their limits, and wants to navigate the world of triathlons without a background in the sport. I created this site as a resource for beginner and amateur triathletes, self-taught competitors, and anyone looking for race and product reviews to make their journey smoother.

My Triathlon  Journey

From Swimmer to Runner to Triathlete

Growing up, I was always an athlete. I swam competitively through college, spending years perfecting my strokes and racing in the pool. But after graduation, I found myself searching for a new competitive outlet. Running seemed like an easy transition—no need for a pool, just a pair of shoes and a road. I ran a few races, enjoyed the challenge, but something was missing. Then I found triathlons.

Triathlons felt like the perfect fit, allowing me to use my swimming background while pushing myself in new ways with cycling and running. I was hooked.

Setbacks and a Restart

Like many others, COVID put a pause on my racing. On top of that, I tore my ACL and had surgery in 2021 from a skiing accident, forcing me to take a step back from training altogether. It was a long road to recovery, but in 2022, I was determined to get back out there. I signed up for my first race post-injury, and from that moment on, I’ve stuck with it ever since!

Learning the Triathlon Way—The Hard Way

I never had a coach or a structured training plan. Instead, I learned everything about triathlons the way many amateur athletes do—through internet research, trial and error, and word of mouth from other racers. How do you transition quickly? What’s the best beginner bike setup? How do you fuel for a long race? I had to figure it all out on my own.

Now don't get me wrong, having a coach can be incredibly helpful, but it does have its own financial and time commitments. That’s why I created this site. I want to provide a space where amateur and self-taught triathletes can find helpful resources, race and product reviews, and real-world advice from someone who’s been in their shoes.

What You Can Expect

Through this blog, I’ll be sharing:

  • Race Recaps & Tips – Honest reviews of races I’ve done and advice to help you prepare.

  • Gear & Product Reviews – From bikes to wetsuits to nutrition, I’ll break down what’s worth it (and what’s not).

  • Training & DIY Coaching Tips – The best strategies I’ve learned to train smarter, not harder.

If you’re an amateur triathlete, a self-coached athlete, or just someone curious about getting started, you’re in the right place. I’m excited to share this journey with you!
